Cornish Species

The wealth of Cornwall and Scilly’s habitats is reflected in the diversity of species found within them – from the smallest beetle in our broadleaved woodlands to the largest mammal in the seas around our coast.

The Environmental Records Centre collates and manages information and data about these species, and we intend to share much of this information with you through this website. As pages are added concerning the various species groups found in the County the list below will grow.

  • Marine sightings and strandings records are collated by Seaquest South-West volunteers. This recording project is run jointly by the Cornwall and Devon Wildlife Trusts, and the last twelve months data is available on the Cornwall Wildlife Trust website.
